| I
am a huge Trading Spaces fan, and I'm proud to say I've gotten others
hooked on the show. (My mom complains every time I talk to her about how
she schedules her day so that she is home from 4-5 every weekday Get Tivo Mom!). Trading
Spaces did three shows in the area recently [August 2002]. I was lucky enough to find
out about the Ashburn one and went to check it out for myself. (Kia made
an Arabian Nights bedroom with the magic carpet bed, and Hildi made the
Great Outdoors bedroom with the climbing wall.) |
|
Kathy,
Cameron, Mikki, Jeremy, and I went to the site of the Ashburn show, and
of course the famous Trading Spaces trailer was there. Naturally we got
a picture in front of it. |

Lucky lucky me! Here
I am with Ty. He autographed a picture frame (which has this picture in
it) "Kamala- I think I love you. Ty." I think I love you too,
Ty. But seriously, he was exactly the same in person as he is on the show:
a complete goof-off. |
|
Unlike getting to
meet Ty almost immediately upon arriving, we had to wait until after the
reveals to meet Paige, which explains the look on Jeremy's face. There is
a picture of Mikki, Paige and I, but it didn't come out, and that lead me
to go and buy a digital camera so that those precious Kodak moments don't
ever get lost again due to film processing errors. |
|
A few weeks later
(armed with my new digital camera and sporting my TS shirt) Genevieve was
at the Capital Home Expo Show. So of course I had to go and meet her. I
learned all sorts of stuff about the show and how it works during her Q&A
session. She had a kid do her rust-wall technique while she chatted about
how she was chosen to be a designer for the show, etc. (she designed the
Tanqueray No. Ten bottle). |

Hans discovered Trading Spaces was in town while on his "beat" (do they still call it that?). He got a picture with Amy Wynn who was busy on a project (the gimmick of this show was "no power tools allowed"). Camera phones really are the autographs of the 21st century. |
|
Here's most of the crew (and homeowners) from the Washington DC show. From left: Allison (participant), Robert AKA "Pollock", Ron (producer), Mark (PA I think, he was the one that hit me), Jen (participant), Amelia (participant), the girl in the orange top's name escapes me (participant), Patrick, Jackson, Phil (biting Jackson's head), and Kate. |
Not pictured above are me (I'm in the hot pink top and white pants below, Dana (she has glasses, and her dark brown hair pulled back), Gary (he has a red shirt on over a white T-shirt). Since these are all just random pictures, there isn't much to explain. Maybe the crew that comes to visit here can offer some commentary. |
P.S. The last picture is of my poor car's damage (see Welcome post for June 18, 2004). |
