Shanelle and Patrick's Wedding |
||||
| Shanelle was one of my roommates in college (if you know me, you probably already know this). Anyway, she and Patrick got married on September 25 [2004] at a beautiful plantation outside of Richmond called Evelynton. If you want to see more pictures of the wedding, go to www.eventpix.com, look up "Lord wedding", and the password is hflord. I can't figure out how to steal those pictures (not the thumbnails) and put them on my site (they have some clever coding on the pictures so I can't right-click and save as. (The thumbnail on my main Pictures page was stolen from their site.) | ||||
| Because Shanelle asked me to be one of her bridesmaids I went down to Richmond on Friday afternoon. Shanelle treated the bridesmaids to manicures and pedicures, a late afternoon snack, and then off to Evelynton for the rehearsal. Here Shanelle's mom walks her down the aisle. | ||||
| Shanelle asked Lecia to be a bridesmaid also, but Lecia opted to read something at the wedding instead. It was good to get a chance to hang out together at the rehearsal dinner (hosted at Patrick's parents' house) and relax a little before things got too crazy. | ||||
| Saturday morning all of the girls met at Shanelle's mom's house for breakfast and to get our hair and makeup done. One of Patrick's gifts to Shanelle (presented the night before at the rehearsal dinner) was this white warm-up suit that says "Soon-to-be Mrs. Burke" for Shanelle to wear on her wedding day while getting ready. I love it. | ||||
| I'm sure Mrs. Burke will love me for putting this picture up. Sorry I didn't get a picture of myself when my hair was teased straight out before it was put up into the proper style. If I did, I'd put that one up instead. | ||||
| Since the make-up artist/hairdresser could only work on one person at a time (obviously) the rest of us kept busy with Friends trivia, VH1, donuts, and of course, free weights. Gotta have good-looking guns for the wedding. Go Heather! | ||||
| Getting ready to head over to Evelynton. All of our make-up is done... | ||||
| ...and so is our hair. Ah, beautiful. From left: Heather, me, Shanelle, Jen, and Stephanie. | ||||
| Here's Evelynton Plantation. Shanelle and Patrick really lucked out. A few weeks after they booked their wedding there, the owner decided to move back into her house. Because Shanelle and Patrick had already booked the place (over a year earlier), the owner had to honor it, and so their wedding was the last official wedding held at Evelynton. (And might I add the weather was goregous—the family members that couldn't be there made that possible.) | ||||
| Patrick and his groomsmen. This car belongs to Patrick's uncle and was what Shanelle and Patrick were going to leave in for their honeymoon to St. Lucia. | ||||
| The girls hung out upstairs in one room while the guys were taking pictures and played Sex and the City trivia, but most of our time was spent helping Shanelle into and out of her dress and stockings. I have some pictures of Shanelle sans dress—and Stephanie and I trying to get her garters and stockings to cooperate, but thought she wouldn't want them on the internet for all to see. | ||||
| Dearly Beloved... | ||||
| You could tell Shanelle and Patrick couldn't wait to get to the "You may now kiss the bride" part. | ||||
The couple's first dance as husband and wife. |
The bridesmaids during the reception. | Cutting the cake. | The G-Spot girls reunited. | Heather caught the bouquet, which she was very excited about. |
| Me and Shanelle DeLorenzo. I forgot how hard it was to explain that I lived with not one, but two Shanelles in college. | ||||
| Uh-oh, is that a Heineken in Stephanie's hand? Tsk tsk, you're only...uh15? Sixteen maybe? Whatever, you're underage. And Mikey, it doesn't look like you are discouraging her. | ||||
| Before you think I'm an idiot for putting the wrong pictures in this album, there is an explanation. On Sunday morning, when all of the wedding hoopla was over and done with, Lecia, JR (one of the groomsmen), his fiancé Mikey, and I went to a Drag Brunch in downtown Richmond. | ||||
| Definitely one of the hightlights of the weekend. Here we are with all of the drag queens including the best Female Impersonater in the South (the better shot is in the picture above this one). | ||||
