Juan and Cristina's Wedding
Juan and Cristina wed on March 8, 2003. The weather was beautiful (especially considering the awful winter we had), and the bride was even prettier. I know Juan through work, he's one of the computer tech guys, and also a lunch buddy.
You may kiss the bride
Juan and Cristina worked together at Enterprise car rental in Miami five or six years ago; they moved up here when Cristina was offered a job she couldn't refuse. The ceremony was held in a beautiful Catholic church, Saint Ann's, in northwest DC.
So which one is Kelly?
After the ceremony, I got a picture of Andy, Daniel and John in their brand new suits. I think they are doing some sort of GQ version of Charlie's Angels. Don't they look suave/ready to kick some ass?
Juan might need to lay off the drinks
Cocktail hour started at 5:00, which gave everyone enough time to change for the reception (the ceremony was at 2:00). Looks like Juan is enjoying coctail hour to the fullest, or maybe I just took the picture while he was talking.
The couple's first dance
Everyone circled around the couple for their first dance and blew bubbles *resisting urge to tell bad Michael Jackson joke*. Other than making me weary of how slippery the dance floor became, the bubbles were a very nice touch.
The couple's first dance v. 2.0
Here's an alternative picture of the couple's first dance. Daniel was playing with the camera's settings, and took this macro shot. I thought it looked pretty cool.
John, Dave, Erica, and Andy
The reception was at the Ritz Carlton at Pentagon City. The food was wonderful, the service excellent, and the dinnerware in abundance. I think each setting had six glasses.
John, Andy, Dave, Juan and Cristina
John, Andy and Dave all work with Juan in Internal Computing at AOL.
Way to go guys!
Daniel gives this union two thumbs up.
Dave, Erica, Cristina and Juan
Erica, Dave's wife, didn't have to participate in the bouquet tossing tradition. Lucky her. The rule this time was that if the bouquet hit the ground, Cristina would have to throw it again. She had to throw it three time (and it almost hit me each time) before finally giving it to one of her bridesmaids. All the other single women avoided the bouquet like the plague.
Kamala and Daniel
While compiling this album, I noticed there weren't any group shots that included Daniel and myself. I guess we never got our pictures with the bride and groom. Oh well. Here's a better shot of Daniel's taylored and sharp suit, and my elegant and fun dress. (I couldn't help including this picture. My apologies to those who are here to see pictures of the bride and groom.)
Tie the knot, then cut the cake
Finally, the cake cutting. Cristina and Juan were very nice and didn't try to smoosh it in each others' faces. By the way, the cake was awesome, as was everything else. Congratulations on a beautiful wedding, and as the best man said in his toast, may all your ups and downs be between the sheets.
