Atlantic City |
|
As I mentioned on the Welcome page, we went to Atlantic City to celebrate Mikki's and Liz's birthdays. Warning: The only people I know who don't have broadband are my parents, so if you're still on a modem, don't bother trying to open these pictures, they aren't modem-friendly (600x450 in most cases). |
|
We stayed at the Tropicana for the weekend, and as you may have heard, part of their expansion project, a new parking deck, collapsed in late October. Lucky us, we had quite a view. |
|
| Here's a better shot of the damage from our hotel room. We referred to it as Ground Zero, and pretty much kept the shades drawn the whole weekend. | |
| Sad we couldn't just look out and see the water. Enough of these depressing photos. Friday night we gambled, and discovered that Roulette was our game. Courtney won $70, Mikki won over $100, and I won $25 or so. As long I break even, I'm happy. AND I went to Hooters for the first time ever. | |
| Saturday morning we went shopping with our winnings. We had to stop and take a cheesy photo in front of this movie star thing. Because we all know how Atlantic City is the Hollywood of the East Coast (yeah right). | |
| I have so many variations of this damn picture. Maybe because we are all so narcissistic. | |
| What's a trip to the beach without one of us getting shit on? Courtney was the lucky one this time. Hilarious, but nothing will top the time we went to Ocean City for my 21st birthday and Mikki got shit on THREE TIMES IN THREE DAYS. I still get tears of laughter just thinking about it. | |
| Thanks to Mom and Dad Banagan for taking us to Atlantic City. We caravaned up to AC on Friday night so that Mikki's parents could check us all in (the rooms were in their names). | |
| Mikki's parents left on Saturday afternoon and gave us their room (which worked out perfectly since two more girls were joining us on Saturday evening). | |
| Saturday night we saw "Showgirls of Magic," the current show playing at the Tropicana. This girl was standing outside the theater—but I don't know what she had to do with the performance. All the showgirls were average height, had great bodies, and wore far less than this on stage. | |
| Mikki was called up on stage during the performance to help lead the audience in a song. Pudgy (shown here) was the one that called her up on stage. All of the girls' efforts to get her up on stage worked because we all pointed at her, but she pointed even more at me to distract Pudgy, and Pudgy likes to pick on the person who points the most. Mikki, your evil plan failed. | |
| After the show we all got something to eat, but before that we had to get a picture of us all together. (It goes back to the narcissism I mentioned earlier.) Here's the first picture of Jen and Liz (they both got to AC Saturday night), who are second and third from the left (don't you love my dress?) | |
| Everyone was very excited to have a chance to dress up, since dressing up and going out aren't common options like they used to be. Here's a picture of Emily and Mikki. Love the outfits, girls. | |
| As we were trying to decide to call it a night or go out (yeah we're pathetic), we ran into a bachelor party from New York. Mikki, who is currently single, wasted no time in getting a picture with all the guys. | |
| And here's the bachelor himself, John. He had to wear this Hooters outfit, which actually worked quite well in getting the ladies' attention. He's getting married on Nov. 22, so he had to enjoy his last few days of freedom. | |
| We went with the guys to the Borgata, the brand new hotel and casino in AC. Liz and Courtney were tired and ended up not staying, but Jen, Kathy, Emily, Mikki and I all had a great time. | |
| Let's hope either John's bride doesn't see these, or isn't offended by them. Here's Mikki and John dancing. It's funny that wearing the Hooters outfit got John so much extra attention, one of his friends asked to borrow it the following weekend. | |
| Emily and Jen also had a great time. Emily ordered a Heineken, and they come in aluminum bottles now, which I thought was so cool. Ah, the technological advanced made in the name of beer... | |
| Seems John wasn't the only one with "only seven days left." Another girl was there for her bachelorette party. | |
| Here's the last picture taken before my camera jammed. Which was probably a good thing, since I don't think anyone wants documentation of the "controversially good time" had shortly hereafter. Sunday morning we all headed home, to go back to our normal lives (sigh). By the way, I got my camera working again, thank goodness. | |
